Mayor's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for visiting the Town of Cajah’s Mountain’s website.

I would also like to thank all of you for the continued public trust and support that you have given me as your Mayor. I respect this position and consider it an honor and privilege to serve Cajah’s Mountain.

My personal mission is that Cajah’s Mountain continues to be a great place to live and raise a family. As your Mayor, I promise to always be readily accessible and responsive, and to seek and provide answers when problems arise.

I welcome your comments and questions and I encourage you to attend our Town Council meetings.

I am so very proud of our town and its’ citizens and I hope you will visit us often, whether on the web or in person.

In observance of Good Friday, the Town Hall will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2013. Solid Waste & Recycling Collection will operate on a normal schedule. We hope you and your family have a blessed Easter.

Updated Unifour Septic System Repair Program

Need help paying for septic system repairs?
We may be able to help!

What is the Unifour Septic System Repair Program?
The Western Piedmont Council of Governments (WPCOG) has received a grant from the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund to start a "worry-free" loan program to repair septic systems in the Greater Hickory Metro Area (Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba County).

Do I qualify?
If you can answer yes to these questions, and need septic system repairs the Unifour Septic System Repair Program (USSRP) may be able to help!

*Is the home owner occupied?
*Is your household income below 300% of the federal poverty line?

What is the Program Coverage Area?
Priority is given to Homeowners whose homes are located within the Targeted Areas for clean water protection or restoration. But all area in the Unifour can now participate.

What types of repairs are covered?
Repairing or replacing an existing drain field or entire system up to $8,000.00; eliminating of straight-piping to surface.

How do I pay back my loan?
Loans made for the repairs plus 5% are repaid when you transfer ownership of your home. There are no monthly payments.

Why should I be concerned about my septic system?
When household septic systems fail, untreated sewage can end up on both land and water. This untreated wastewater may threaten human health and pollute the drinking water source for thousands.
